My first experience with Yin Yoga was during my teacher training. I was required to observe a Yin class prior to our training segment on the practice. To say I wasn’t at all impressed would be an understatement. For the life of me, I couldn’t understand what could possibly be beneficial in these long, boring poses.
Fast forward to a few years ago when my teaching schedule was full and my personal practice was almost non-existent. My body was really feeling out of sorts from my lack of self care. I decided to try a Yin class again. What a game changer for me! The slow, mindful, deep stretches were the medicine I needed. I felt better almost immediately.
Yin Yoga is beginner friendly. All poses are done on the floor with little to no movement. Yin poses are held for 3 – 5 minutes. This deep tissue work can alleviate joint pain and stiffness and can increase mobility.
Yin Immersion is one of the most popular classes we offer. Join us on the mat for a practice of deep connection to your body and soul. Please see the schedule here for upcoming classes: https://theyogaboothzanesville.com/schedule/.
